Truefood Red Kidney Beans (400g)

Truefood Red Kidney Beans – are NON-GMO and a good source of cholesterol-lowering fibre, also a source of protein and iron red kidney beans make a great addition to vegan and vegetarian diets. These nutritionally dense beans are high in vitamins and minerals and aid in good health and overall well-being.

True to their name, these popular beans are kidney-shaped and have a firm creamy white flesh with a full-bodied flavour. They are especially good in simmered dishes where they absorb the flavours of the seasonings and other foods with which they are cooked. Commonly used in chilli dishes or in bean salads, red kidney beans are also delicious in wraps.

Red Kidney beans are:

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

To soak overnight – Rinse and cover with water in a non-metal container. Leave to stand for 12 hours.

Quick soak – Cover beans with water (about 2cm above the beans), microwave for 3 minutes on high and leave to stand for 30 minutes. Cook as described below.

Cooking method – Rinse well, cover with a generous amount of water and simmer gently for 1 1/2 hours until done

Cooking tip – Only mix in salt and vegetables when the beans begin to soften
